Storage doesn’t get much more basic than large cardboard boxes, the kinds you probably are already using to stuff your long owned things into the attic to forget about, or the kinds that you break down and stuff behind the dresser, thinking someday you may have some use for them, though it’s unlikely that will ever really happen. They’re useful like that, and they’re also easy to get, either by purchasing them or talking a friend or a store out of them.
Large cardboard storage boxes are fairly simple to get, assuming you don’t mind them being a little dirty or having writing or a logo on them already. I’ve moved several times over the past ten years, and more often than not I’ve gone to local businesses and simply asked if they have any boxes I can take. Grocery stores are pretty good for this, since they’re getting food on a daily basis usually, but any store that has shipments coming in will be able to do the same thing for you.
The best part is, everyone understands too. Who hasn’t thought about the amount of waste that Americans produce, and wanted to do something about it? Well, this is your chance, and you’re doing more than taking boxes off someone’s hands – you’re offering to take a load off their mind as well. Is that a little dramatic? Well, perhaps. But go ahead and try it. Ask a business for some boxes, and 90% of the time they will dig around for a good long time, looking for something they can give you.
Sometimes you just need new ones though (perhaps you’re running a business yourself) so for large cardboard boxes for sale, I’d suggest the internet. Today you can find any number of wholesalers willing to sell boxes for very little money per box – especially if you’re buying in bulk or ordering directly from the factory. The days of going to a nearby store to buy large cardboard boxes is mostly over – the economies of scale just don’t add up. It costs too much to ship product in smaller amounts. Go to the source instead.
The large cardboard box is so common we rarely think about it, so if you ever need them for personal use, you may be surprised at how many friends or businesses would be willing to part with them for you. If you’re a business, get online and start looking for the deals that are available. Just remember, if someone comes to your door asking for boxes some day, do them a favor and give them a couple.
