Why Buy Clear Shoe Boxes?

by Philip

There are many ways to store shoes, and clear shoe boxes are not the cheapest way to do it. The containers are relatively pricey, they can take up a lot of room in the closet, and you can really only fit one pair into a box without risking damaging them. So why exactly buy them?

For one thing, they are made of plastic, and clear plastic shoe boxes will keep your shoes as protected as possible. They keep the shoes in an airtight spot, so no dust will settle on them, nor will the air deteriorate them, making the boxes perfect for long term storage. This is also good for older shoes that may be more susceptible to exposure to air, as well as shoes that are simply expensive that you want to keep safe without worry. This feature alone is worth it for the most expensive and prized shoes in your collection.

The fact that they are clear will also make them easy to organize, re-organize, and move around without getting too confusing. If you have all of your shoes on a shoe shelf or a rack, then you have a compact but inflexible way of storing them. Separating them by color or by cost involves a lot of time-consuming adjusting, and they’re always going to be right next to each other on the rack. But with the boxes you can move them around however you need, with relative ease.

Granted, they have their downfall too – they will take up a considerable amount of room in your closet or attic, so you’ll need to plan ahead there. They’ll also, as I eluded to earlier, cost you quite a bit more per pair of shoe than a rack or shelf will, though they’re usually stackable and will sit on top of one another perfectly. Lately the trend in the industry has been more toward boxes that open on the sides instead of the tops, making it easy to get to shoes at a lower level in the pile. This alleviates the annoyance of having to dig through piles of boxes to find the ones you need.

The clear shoe boxes work for other accessories too, like ties, socks, belts, or anything else that’s small and difficult to organize. Fill them up enough and you can end up with a new travel container, easy to get in the suitcase and take out at the end.

The benefits of clear shoes boxes are unmistakable. They work well for sentimental or expensive shoes, and are the best way to store shoes long term today. They’re available both online and in stores.
